Butterfly Induction

Ask the subject to sit straight, facing you, and keeping their head level. Next, start fluttering your fingers and ask them to follow the movement of your fingers. As you keep fluttering your fingers, move them back and forth - right, then left - and slowly raise them up so that the subject has to strain more and more to follow the fingers. Once they start tuning out, eyelids flutter, vision growing somewhat unfocused, tap them lightly at the back of their head.
